Cyber Operations purpose is to support safe care and build public trust by building NHS England’s cyber resilience and enabling the wider health system to be cyber resilient, supporting Transformation Directorate’s purpose of delivering the best care and outcomes for the NHS.
The Cyber Operations sub-directorate consists of 4 operational areas:
Cyber Security Operations Unit (CSOU) - SIO
Cyber Delivery Unit (CDU).
Cyber Improvement Programme.
Chief Information Security Office Function (CISO)
Service Integration and Ownership (SIO), which is part of Cyber Operations and Cyber Security Operations Unit. SIO is primarily external facing, managing the portfolio of Cyber Services to NHS Systems, to manage cyber risk and ultimately provide cyber resilience while underpinning the delivery of patient services and outcomes.
Consistent, efficient, proportionate security risk management is best achieved by a blend of centralised advice, control and security services blended with individual security responsibility and actions. We support owners of security risk keeping their services secure, deliver managed security services to the system, filling the gaps where secure design & operation or other constraints fail to deliver proportionate security across the system.
The role maintains a portfolio of centrally managed cyber services that supports the Health & Care System. This will include identifying trends and opportunities across services and on-ward enhancements and business planning.
As part of the service team, you will support the operational delivery of Cyber Operational Services and process management, across the service lifecycle, including but not limited in the areas of to service transition, operation and retirement. You will also be required to support the Service Strategy and associated processes and governance, ownership, supplier management, integration.
The Senior service manager will take a customer focused approach whilst working with and supporting internal and external partners to ensure excellent service delivery and supplier management.
They will be required to manage and develop individuals in the team, providing them with subject matter expertise and direction when needed.

All NHS England Cyber Security personnel must hold security clearance SC level as a minimum. To meet National Security Vetting requirements, you must have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 out of the past 5 years for SC clearance. Candidates who were posted abroad for service with HM Government, Armed Forces or within a UK government role - will still be considered. More information on SC clearance can be found here.
