Our client
Our client is an industry leading provider of Structural Insurance with an international presence and a respected brand. With a UK wide presence in the Insurance and Warranty sector, my client is an award-winning company and is always looking for talented Building Inspectors and Building Control Surveyors to join them. They focus on developing their team and offering support to new members. They are now looking for a Senior Surveying Auditor to work around the Cambridge/Luton - South East area.
The Role
To provide Site Quality Audits, Award verifications, and Technical Audits relating to the inspection of construction sites and Technical Manual Reports for DRS cases, interfacing with the external end user and property developer as required, completing a comprehensive report in all cases which is then delivered to the respective parties depending on the type of report.
The Responsibilities
* Carry out comprehensive Site Audits, working closely with Developers and Builders to ensure workmanship and materials are in accordance with the Technical Manual and Building Regulations.
* Provide technical support and investigation/analysis to internal departments regarding issues raised by Homeowners in the first two years of their Warranty.
* Provide accurate advice and reports to the claims department on the technical cause of claims.
* Effectively self-manage by forward planning own workload to provide a responsive and professional service.
* Record Audit details on the database and communicate comments to customers.
* Carry out Developer assessments and present findings at regional offices if requested.
* Maintain ongoing liaison with Surveyors and Management on technical matters.
* Offer technical advice and guidance to Developers/Clients/Builders, promoting areas of good practice.
* Conduct tool box talks if required.
* Share knowledge on industry trends within the organization.
* Carry out award verification marking as required.
* Support Key National and Regional teams with Technical Audits when requested.
* Undertake any other duties as reasonably required.
The Requirements
* Full member or associate of professional organizations (MRICS / MCIOB / MCABE / MICWCI or similar).
* Relevant BC experience, plan check, site inspection, and warranty or defect resolution experience.
* In-depth knowledge of Building Regulations and construction standards.
* Basic understanding of general insurance principles and terminology.
* Ability to undertake site audits to assess quality and standards.
* Excellent communication and report writing skills.
* Commercial awareness and ability to work as part of a team.
* Demonstrable understanding of audit processes.
* Ability to create good working relationships with construction professionals and the public.
* Ability to meet deadlines and manage workload.
* Demonstrable initiative and ability to motivate self and influence others.
* Excellent customer service skills and relationship management experience.
* Flexible personal approach.
* Working knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel.
* Proficient in English communications (written and oral).
