Assistant Psychologist – Aurora Hanley School
Salary : £13.49 – £15.53 per hour
Permanent contact : Full time 40 hrs per week, Term time (39 weeks)
Location : Aurora Hanley School, Stoke-On-Trent
Closing Date: Friday the 10th of January at 5pm
Aurora Hanley School is a mixed day school for pupils between the ages of 6 and 19 with complex communication and social difficulties. Students may be on the autistic spectrum or have other difficulties that impact their emotional health and wellbeing and create barriers to learning.

Job Role:
We would like to appoint a candidate to be a key member of the clinical team in delivering and evaluating psychological support to our young people. Liaison with other professionals in the school will be a key part of the role, including teaching staff. The post-holder will undertake various tasks under the supervision of the clinical psychologist and have regular opportunities for professional development.
Skills and Qualifications
Candidate profile
The successful candidate will have a 2:1 undergraduate degree in Psychology, previous experience and/or an assistant psychologist or experience of working with children and young people, ideally in a special educational needs/mental health setting.
Essential Citeria
* Excellent communicator
* Organised and meticulous record keeping skills
* Confident in working with children directly, as well as with professionals and families.
* A good understanding of ethical practice and the psychological principles which underpin our interventions e.g. attachment and learning theories.
* Ability to work within a clinical team of specialists
* Ability to carry out clinical assessments ( with training and support).
* Able to build supportive but professional relationships with staff, parents and young people
