About The Firm:
My client is a highly regarded law firm with a strong national reputation for clinical negligence and medical negligence claims. Their Clinical Negligence department is one of the leading teams in the country, offering expert legal representation in complex and high-profile cases. Due to recent successes, my client is expanding the department and seeking a Medical Negligence Solicitor (2-4 years PQE) to join their growing team.
Position Overview:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a Legal 500 and Chambers-ranked team of expert solicitors. The successful candidate will handle a varied and challenging caseload, working on inquests, psychiatric and fatal cases, and claims involving Human Rights Act issues. A passion for access to justice and a strong background in medical negligence litigation are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage a caseload of medical negligence claims, including inquests, psychiatric injury, fatal cases, and Human Rights Act claims.
2. Conduct legal research, case preparation, and client advocacy.
3. Work closely with medical experts and counsel to develop case strategy.
4. Support and represent clients at inquests and hearings.
5. Provide clear, compassionate, and expert legal advice to clients.
6. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and procedural requirements.
7. Contribute to the growth and success of the Clinical Negligence department.
Requirements:
Essential:
1. 2-4 years PQE as a Medical Negligence Solicitor.
2. Experience handling inquests, psychiatric injury, fatal cases, and Human Rights Act claims.
3. Strong client care skills with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Excellent legal research, drafting, and advocacy skills.
6. A genuine passion for access to justice.
Desirable:
1. Experience working on high-profile and complex medical negligence claims.
2. Familiarity with Legal Aid funding and alternative dispute resolution in clinical negligence cases.
