Function description
We are in search of a skilled Deck Foreman for a project located in United Kingdom. This role is designated for a specific project starting from the 14 th of April to the 21 st of May. The Deck Foreman is responsible for overseeing deck operations on a cable laying vessel, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of subsea cables, equipment, and deck crew activities. The role involves coordinating lifting operations, managing deck personnel, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and supervise the deck crew during cable laying, retrieval, and associated offshore construction tasks.
* Ensure compliance with operational procedures, project specifications, and safety guidelines.
* Operate and oversee the use of deck equipment.
* Ensure correct tensioning and alignment of cables to prevent damage during deployment.
* Assign tasks to deck crew and ensure clear communication of work instructions.
* Conduct regular safety inspections of deck equipment and report any issues.
Requirements
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Deck Foreman on offshore cable laying vessels.
* Strong knowledge of cable handling, deck operations and heavy lifting procedures.
* STCW or ENG1 medical
* STCW Security Awareness
* STCW Basic Safety
