Responsibilities As a Senior Residential Child Care Worker, your duties will include: Leading and delegating to the staff team, ensuring shifts are well-managed. Supporting and supervising junior staff members. Undertaking management responsibilities and on-call duties as needed. Assisting the Registered Manager in ensuring regulatory compliance, especially around safeguarding. Maintaining a safe, caring environment and managing challenging behavior. Attending professional meetings and promoting daily living skills. Reporting and recording key aspects of care and progress. Acting as a keyworker for individual children, developing individualized care plans. Key Skills Required Ability to plan and lead shifts, ensuring the needs of young people are met. Experience with children and young people with learning difficulties and challenging behavior in residential settings is beneficial. NVQ 3 (or higher) in Children and Young People or Level 3 Health and Social Care. Resilience and empathy for working with children with Learning Disabilities (LD) and Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Difficulties. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
