The Head of Loan Originations is integral to the success of the business and will have full responsibility for developing and implementing their strategies for the full scope of Loan Originations; this includes four areas of focus – Underwriting, Payouts, Introducer Support, and Specialist Funding.
This role forms the day-to-day management and oversight of a process function as well as the effective running of the team combined with technical project responsibility for continuing to drive process, performance, and technology improvements, particularly focusing on automation of decisioning. You’ll also be responsible for multiple high-profile internal and customer-facing projects, so you will need a strong understanding of technology and analytics.
Key responsibilities
* Full responsibility for people management of those in the teams including but not limited to 1-2-1’s, periodical appraisals, and goal setting.
* Development, implementation, and training of new automated systems and technology advancements.
* Understand the user journey and take ownership of existing and new products and features.
* Interrogate product ideas and ensure the problem is understood ahead of the solution.
* Manage complex technical issues and work with non-technical staff.
* Ensure that the team underwrites referred deals according to policy and mandate and manage more information queries, investigate potential Frauds, PEP, and Sanctions matches, and manage client feedback.
* Monthly review of underwriting, payouts, specialist funding, and introducer support.
* Verification of the completeness and accuracy of credit proposals.
* Interviewing and recruitment of new employees.
* Training of new employees.
* Review existing procedures and processes and identify areas of improvement.
Person specification
* Demonstrable experience of managing high-performing teams, or leading within a senior role, preferably within an FCA regulated environment.
* Good team player, flexible, and able to work on own initiative.
* Strong interpersonal skills, able to establish effective working relationships at all levels.
* Ability to work with competing deadlines and priorities.
* Resilient, not derailed by a setback and returns to a high level of performance quickly.
* Awareness of current FCA regulations.
* Ability to understand and comply with documented processes, policies, and procedures.
Further information
* Office hours are between 8 am-7 pm, you should complete 7.5 hours a day, covering core working hours to best support your managers and their teams.
* Hybrid working available after probation period is completed (3 days in the office as a minimum).
* Must be able to drive as the office isn’t easily located by public transport.
