Job summary
As a nurse, midwife, paramedic within our SARC contract you will be working autonomously, within the scope of competency, being able to assess and treat patients under our company PGDs patient group directives. You are expected to provide holistic care and support to victims of sexual assault.
1. The role is a retainer role and we offer a call out of £150 a shift.
2. We pay mileage.
3. You need to be within an hour of the SARC in Lincoln
4. Shifts are 7am - 7pm day shift and 7pm - 7am night shift.
5. On average we receive 13 calls per month within SARC
6. Need access to own transport to get to SARC
Main duties of the job
7. To undertake clinical assessments and offer a high standard of clinical care for patients under your management.
8. To undertake forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits.
9. Develop Forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines.
10. Actively working in partnership with external MDTs and Police.
11. 1st point of contact for victims, Police and Social Services to discuss referral pathways.
12. Manage and promote the self referral pathway.
13. Using a camera system to document injuries.
14. Undertaking holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding.
15. Producing individual management plans.
16. Supporting the continued quality improvement of the service.
17. Working under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements.
18. Obtaining consent for forensic procedures. To undertake the forensic examination of victims of sexual assault to record and if appropriate give opinion of cause of injuries and or collect DNA evidence.
19. To provide written statements as required within 7- 10 days of request even when contract is terminated.
20. To give oral testimony as required in any Court or Tribunal.
21. To support the development of medical services with the Clinical Lead, Head of clinical operations
22. To promote and conduct policies Equality and Diversity, Dignity and Respect, Information Governance and Safeguarding.
