Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are seeking a dedicated SEND Tutor to join our team in Gateshead, helping young learners reach their full potential.
About the Role
As a SEND Tutor, you will provide tailored educational support to students with a range of learning needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other additional needs. You will work in small groups or one-to-one settings, adapting lessons to meet individual learning styles and providing a nurturing environment where students can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs
2. Use creative and adaptive teaching strategies to support students' progress
3. Work closely with parents, carers, and other professionals to develop individual learning plans
4. Provide emotional and behavioural support to help students build confidence and independence
5. Maintain accurate records of student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
Requirements
1. Experience working with children or young people with SEND (e.g., in a tutoring, teaching, or support role)
2. Strong understanding of various SEND needs and strategies to support learning
3. Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
4. Relevant qualifications in education, SEND, or related fields (preferred but not essential)
5. A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
