The Category Lead is responsible for developing and maintaining category management strategy and sourcing development for global freight forwarding/customs brokerage suppliers and small package courier services providers.This position will include external supplier liaison and working with various Westinghouse teams that execute deliveries with global freight forwarders and courier services.Strong interpersonal relationship skills are required to manage internal stakeholders and external suppliers
Your Day to Day:
1. Negotiate prices and service delivery, and terms and conditions for logistics services.
2. Develop and maintain category strategy and sourcing development for global freight forwarding/customs brokerage suppliers small package courier services
3. Create and maintain supplier contracts
4. Maintain extensive category knowledge by researching and tracking industry trends, best practices, applicable indices,
5. Manage Request for Quotations and LOA submissions for competitive offerings to identify opportunities for innovation, competitive advantage, and increased overall productivity
6. Manage interface with transport suppliers
7. Responsible for development and implementation of comprehensive and cohesive communication plan with supply base as part of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
8. Responsible for category risk assessment and inflation mitigation
9. Provide support to the Global Trade Compliance team for management of intermediary supplier approval process
10. Manage the spend reporting for all EMEA Logistics providers
11. Create and execute Global Logistics sourcing strategies to achieve business goals while driving continuous improvement with transport suppliers
12. Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams including the Nuclear Fuel Transport teams to maximize procurement and delivery effectiveness.
13. Understand all the key operational & commercial elements of strategic and preferred suppliers to effectively communicate opportunities, challenges, and long-term plans and actions to internal stakeholders including project teams and Global Logistics leadership to support the Global Logistics procurement strategy.
14. Maintain good working relationships with new and existing suppliers. Assist the Westinghouse logistics teams with disputes, including supplier schedule and quality issue resolution
15. Coordinate quality audit activities and cost reduction initiatives
16. Prepare and communicate key project milestone updates and risks for key stakeholders.
17. Proactively manage risk and escalate as appropriate for risk mitigation.
18. Manage Supplier Corrective Action Reports for Logistics suppliers.
Who You Are:
19. BA/BS in areas of Supply Chain, Business, or similar discipline
20. 3 years of procurement or global transport experience
21. Strong Negotiating, Benchmarking, Market Analysis, Competitive Intelligence, and Project Procurement Management skills
22. Experience with vendor management including supplier contract administration
23. Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze and draw conclusions from quantitative data
24. Strong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate and engage at all organizational levels, ability to cultivate and sustain high quality professional relationships
25. Ability to amicably and professionally resolve disputes with suppliers
26. Ability to work individually or as part of a team environment
27. Must be creative and have strong problem-solving skills along with time-management, prioritizing, planning and self-direction skills
28. Ability to maintain long term productive relationship with suppliers (SRM)
29. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
30. Ability to manage data and workflows in a database environment
31. Ability to travel 10%
