An opportunity has arisen for a Highly Specialist Practitioner Psychologist to join the Paediatric Psychology Team, specifically inputting into the Paediatric Diabetes team at the Princess Royal University Hospital. The post will form part of the wider Paediatric Psychology team at King's College Hospital which is based at Denmark Hill and some cross-site working will be required.
The successful post holder will input into the delivery and operationalisation of an integrated model of psychological care for children and young people with diabetes. The post holder will provide specialist screening, assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes.

Specialist paediatric and clinical health psychology across all ages has a long tradition at King's College Hospital, and you will be joining a group of psychology and mental health professionals who are dedicated and supportive.

Main duties of the job
1. To provide a comprehensive clinical psychology service to inpatient and outpatient children, young people and their families under the Paediatric Diabetes team at Princess Royal University Hospital, which is part of King's College Hospital.
2. To provide a specialist psychology service to paediatric psychology patients assessment, formulation, evidence-based treatment and implementation and monitoring of outcomes.
3. Together with senior colleagues, to ensure the systematic provision of a highly specialist psychology service, responsible for screening, assessing and monitoring development, cognition and associated learning and neurodevelopmental outcomes, and onwards referrals according to local pathways.
4. Ensuring that psychological wellbeing is being considered in the planning and delivery of multidisciplinary care to all patients.
5. To contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.
6. To provide clinical supervision and consultation to non-psychology colleagues as appropriate.
7. To undertake and contribute to service evaluation, audit and research.
8. To work as an autonomous professional within BPS and HCPC guidelines and codes of conduct, and guided by the policies and procedures of the service, taking responsibility for own work including treatment and discharge decisions with support of clinical supervisor.

Qualifications
Essential
1. Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology that has been accepted by the HCPC for purposes of professional registration.
2. Registered with the HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist, and evidence of continuing professional development as required by the HCPC.
Desirable
1. Additional training in a specialised area of psychological practice through formal post-qualification training (PG Diploma or equivalent), OR a combination of specialist short courses, or an evidenced portfolio of supervised practice-based learning in a specialist area of clinical practice, assessed by an experienced clinical supervisor to be of equal level to a Postgraduate Diploma.
2. Completed training course in clinical supervision.
3. Competence and/or specialist training in models of assessment and practice for children with health conditions and their caring networks.

1. Experience of working with children with chronic illness and their families.
