Swansea Bay University Health Board in conjunction with Flying Start, Neath Port Talbot is offering a full time Speech and Language Therapy Assistant post.
You will be working with children, families and pre-school childcare settings across Neath Port Talbot to deliver a range of preventative programmes and training. You will work with parents/carers as well as a wide range of play settings to support the development of Early Language skills in young children.
You will need to plan, organise and deliver early baby groups and provide coaching in adult child interaction techniques to relevant adults to support the development of children's early speech, language and communication skills.
This Flying Start post will be based within a well-established team consisting of a range of professionals. You will access support from Registrant Speech and Language Therapists as well as the wider Flying Start team.
We can offer you opportunities for in-house training, supervision and work across a variety of settings.
Main duties of the job
1. You will be working under the direction of registered Speech and Language Therapists as well as a wide range of professionals.
2. You will assist in the planning and delivery of training to upskill the childcare workforce.
3. You will need to use excellent organisational skills to plan, manage and deliver a range of groups across the footprint.
4. You will use excellent communication skills to be able to interact with a variety of different professionals.
5. You will need good data inputting skills and creative thinking.
6. You will be required to be able to travel between the sites in a timely manner.

Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
* Completion of relevant diploma or equivalent level of knowledge, skills and experience.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.

* Working in a multidisciplinary/multi-agency setting demonstrating ability to work collaboratively and understand the roles of others.
