The Senior Catering Technician will supervise the team of catering assistants and assist in the day-to-day running of the kitchens, bakery and restaurant. The Senior Catering Technician will also support the tutors and student groups to provide a supportive and engaging experience for the students.
Duties will include:
1. Supervising the preparation and serving of hospitality refreshments at college meetings and events
2. Ensuring that our kitchens, bakery and restaurant have sufficient provisions for the week's business and classes
3. Ensuring the standards of cleaning in kitchens and front of house areas are up to standard for learners and customers
4. Supporting other catering operations in the college
5. Ensuring that kitchens are set up for classes with all resources
6. Supervising the opening and closing down of kitchens after classes are completed to the expected standards
7. Ensuring the correct procedures are followed when recording temperatures and safe storage of foods
8. Ensuring the team maintains high food hygiene standards
9. Responsible for placing food and consumables following the college budgets
10. Costing food menus to ensure profitability
11. Placing orders with suppliers ensuring best quality and value for money is achieved
12. Conducting monthly health and safety audits and stock takes
