Our client, a leading engineering business, is currently looking for an experienced Production Engineer to complement the current growing team.
The Production Engineer position is a vital role within this Department, and with the business expanding, the successful candidate may be presented with more opportunities to further their career within the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Assisting the Department Head in maintaining product output in the Lathe Area Department.
2. Investigating and offering suggestions for process improvements and/or cost reductions.
3. Assisting Lathe Machine production when necessary to maintain production output.
4. Assisting in the training of new staff and the progression training of existing staff.
5. Diagnosing faults and repairing Lathe Machines and associated equipment.
6. Completing and updating tasks using maintenance-based software.
7. Providing assistance as and when required to any and all members of the Lathe Area team.
8. Providing assistance to Service Engineers as and when required.
9. Assisting with any other requirements associated with the Lathe Area Department.
10. Providing weekend engineering cover, once capable, on a rotational basis with the other Engineers in the team.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will be:
1. Experienced in using a range of tool room/workshop-based machinery.
2. Familiar with Lathe Machines, preferably Multispindle, and have at least 5-10 years of experience working in a production environment, preferably on a 24/7 basis.
3. Possessing good mechanical aptitude and able to diagnose faults associated with machine wear and component quality.
4. Disciplined, self-motivated, and able to work both individually and as part of a team.
5. Willing to support the Lathe Area Department as and when necessary, outside of normal working hours.
6. Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 and possessing strong communication skills, able to discuss problems and issues with all levels of personnel.
