The Opportunity
An opportunity is available for a Principal/Lead Mechanical Engineer to support a recently awarded project involving the pre-FEED and FEED of an onshore Oil & Gas Project. The project is managed at our client’s office located in Brentford and consists of an integrated team and the end client.
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
Deliver Mechanical engineering services that meet contractor and client statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
Lead Mechanical Engineer capable of working fully independently, involved in the following activities:
Writing mechanical specifications.
Writing mechanical data sheets.
Writing technical content documents to support market quotations.
Review of supplier bid documents.
Compilation of Technical Bid Evaluations to capture technical bid clarification responses.
Undertaking Bid Clarification Meetings.
Review and Approval of Designs and Check / Approval of Engineering Deliverables.
Managing the mechanical engineering team to deliver project objectives.
Mechanical interface with all project disciplines, including liaison with multi-discipline project teams, project/engineering management.
Client point of contact for project mechanical scope.
Input to design reviews, risk assessments and value improvement workshops.
Reporting issues related to management of change.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject.
Experienced mechanical engineer with a sound technical background and expertise.
Experienced in the use of appropriate codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation.
Experienced in the use of design and assessment methods used within discipline.
Competent in use of analytical methods used within discipline including theoretical background for analysis programs.
Experienced in quality control requirements and quality assurance for engineering work.
Team player experienced in working collaboratively to identify the best solutions for problems encountered and tenacity to drive these solutions with satisfactory application up to a conclusion.
Flexibility in approach and willingness to adjust to the requirements of project requirements.
Ability to think creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems.
Previous experience with shipyard equipment specification / design (an advantage).
The setting for the role:
The role is office based in Brentford and will require attendance 5 days per week.
