Job Title : Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant Location : Southampton Salary :£12.90 P/H Contract Type : [Full-Time/Part-Time, Permanent/Temporary] Start Date : January 2025 Job Description : We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Southampton. The successful candidate will support students with a variety of special educational needs, ensuring that they can access the curriculum and achieve their potential. Responsibilities : Assist in the delivery of tailored lessons and activities for students with SEN. Support students with physical, sensory, and learning disabilities. Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and other support strategies. Encourage social inclusion and promote positive behavior. Work closely with class teachers and other professionals to provide effective support. Assist in managing classroom behavior and maintaining a positive learning environment. Participate in meetings with parents, guardians, and external specialists. Key Requirements : Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable. Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students. Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students. Knowledge of SEN provisions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or other learning difficulties. A commitment to supporting students in their social and academic development. Desirable Skills : Experience in behavior management techniques. Knowledge of speech, language, and communication needs.
