Main duties of the job
You will carry day to day responsibility for the operational management and delivery of services within the multidisciplinary team.
You will be responsible for the management of staff within the team, leadership, the delivery and delegation of management supervision and ensuring appropriate clinical / professional supervision takes place as per Trust policy and procedure.
You will be responsible for the Operational Management of the CRHT West team, exercising effectiveness and flexible budget control in order to stay within budgetary limits in conjunction with locality manager.
Work collaboratively with the Service Manager and team clinical leads in the planning, re-shaping and delivery of the service.
Responsible for the development and delivery of the Crisis Alternative pathways.
You will engage in and support the development of policies, procedures and working practices within the team. Ensure implementation, monitoring, evaluation and compliance with all policies and procedures in area of responsibility.
Day to day line management responsibility for staff working within the Team including management of sickness, performance, recruitment and appraisals.

You will work alongside the collective leadership to ensure that a high quality of service is delivered within this clinical area, and that the team feel well led.

Person Specification
Essential
* First level professional nursing /AHP/Social Work qualification.
* Post-registration experience and/or evidence of formal courses and training at post graduate diploma level.
* Evidence of clinical expertise in Mental Health Nursing (level 3 degree equivalent or above).
Desirable
* Leadership/mentorship course.
Experience
Essential
* Experience of effectively initiating, developing, implementing and evaluating operational processes.
* Demonstrable experience in performance management.
* Experience in the direct line management of health or social care staff.
* Significant demonstrable post qualification experience at senior level needs to be at senior level working in a mental health / specialist inpatient setting.

* Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams.
