Senior Operational Resilience Manager National salary - circa £70,000 London salary - circa £85,000 We are looking for a Senior Operational Resilience Manager to join our growing team in the second line of Aviva's three lines of defence model. This is an exciting time as we reach regulatory deadlines for compliance in 2025 and work to further mature and strengthen our processes to support and protect our customers. This includes managing risks and ensuring resilience throughout our supply chain; we use a network of third and fourth parties to support delivery to our customers, who expect services to be available when they want to use them, with a demand for an 'always on' capability. Operational resilience is the ability of firms, financial market infrastructures and the financial sector, to prevent, adapt and respond to, recover, and learn from operational disruption. Operational disruptions and the unavailability of important business services have the potential to cause wide-reaching harm to consumers and/or risk to market integrity, threaten the viability of firms and cause instability in the financial systems. To meet these expectations, operational resilience is a fundamental part of Aviva's strategy. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in first, second and third line to help oversee and manage operational risk and deliver and embed Operational Resilience practices in line with relevant regulatory expectations in the UK, EU and Canada, including Third Party and Change risk management. As part of the role you will also: Support and drive work to connect operational and operational resilience risk management to support customer journeys. Oversee scenario testing as it applies to management of operational resilience risks, including in our Third and Fourth Parties. Perform reviews and deep dives, providing challenge and assurance to our senior management. Actively engage in relevant operational risk and resilience governance forums/committees and industry groups with oversight of issues and control gaps remediation. Review and challenge compliance with the risk and control framework (including adherence to policies and standards). Ensure that the key priorities and risks are managed appropriately. Skills and experience we're looking for: Operational resilience experience within the Financial Services industry is a must (preferably 2nd line). Experience with stress and scenario testing. Change and third party risk management experience is desirable. Stakeholder management skills - confident communicator - ability to influence and challenge decision making.
