Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Neighbourhood Services to work for a London Local Authority on a 6 month basis. As the Head of Neighbourhood Services, you’ll deliver cost-effective neighbourhood and sheltered housing services that foster safe, sustainable communities and enhance resident satisfaction.
You’ll lead the housing management strategy, using data to transform services, monitor KPIs, and ensure efficient delivery. Budget management is crucial, ensuring services stay within budget and providing regular reports. Your leadership will align the service with the Council’s commitments and strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Assistant Director to drive service improvement and innovation.
* Develop and implement long-term housing strategies and neighbourhood management plans.
* Understand the legal framework for social landlords and housing legislation.
* Lead the development of sheltered housing services and implement improvement plans.
* Work with senior managers to develop responsive plans reflecting organisational changes.
* Prepare briefings, reports, and papers for senior leadership.
* Provide effective people management, including appraisals and training.
* Manage resources efficiently in line with Council policies.
* Deliver high-quality, responsive housing services, improving customer satisfaction.
* Prepare and manage the budget, addressing overspend and improving value for money.
* Promote equality and diversity, ensuring fair access and addressing inequalities.
* Be on call for emergencies and deputise for the Assistant Director as needed.
