In collaboration with Dementia UK, Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust are looking to recruit an exceptional, registered nurse with a passion for, and experience of, providing relationship-centred dementia care to join our team as an Admiral Nurse.
Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who work with and support people with dementia and their families. As the Band 7 Admiral Nurse, you will be based at Rotherham Hospital and work within the Safeguarding and Vulnerabilities Team to influence, deliver, and coordinate relationship-centred dementia care within the hospital setting.
As an Admiral Nurse, you will provide specialist one-to-one support, guidance, and practical solutions for families, alongside supporting best practice and providing role modelling within Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. You will also influence and lead on the delivery of work streams that improve the experience of care for people living with dementia, and their families throughout their hospital stay and across care transitions.
You will be employed by Rotherham Foundation Trust, working under the direct management of Head of Safeguarding and Vulnerabilities Team, and will receive ongoing support from Dementia UK to maintain and strengthen your clinical expertise as a specialist nurse within dementia care. You will also become part of the wider network of Admiral Nurses and will have the opportunity to access relevant post graduate courses and develop professionally.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be an NMC registered (adult/mental health/learning disability) nurse, with significant post-registration clinical experience of working with people with dementia and supporting their carers/supporters in different settings, including the acute setting, along with formal knowledge of dementia acquired through clinical post-graduate training/education.
The successful candidate will be pivotal to supporting the Trust in delivering best practice in dementia care; assessing patients and supporting the transfer of care to community settings.

* Experience of working as an autonomous practitioner

Qualifications
* Post graduate qualification in relevant field
* Educated to Masters Level or equivalent experience
* Experience of continued professional development/training in relevant areas including dementia and leadership
* Commitment to continued professional development through Dementia UK's Admiral Nurse Academy (Masters Level)
* Commitment to complete Dementia UK's Pre-Admiral Nurse e-learning course prior to starting in post
