The Nelson Trust provides holistic support for women involved with the Criminal Justice System (CJS) under the supervision of the National Probation Service. Women include those serving a community order and women released from HMP Eastwood Park. We aim to establish a fourth women’s centre within South Wales in Cwm Taf Morgannwg. The role of the Centre manager will be to identify suitable premises, working closely with the Head of Service to ensure space and provision for a women centre facility is established in Cwm Taf in line with our other women’s centre’s across the regions. The role will include setting up the centre, ensuring the premises is accessible, all health and safety aspects are adhered to, ensuring the women’s centre is shaped into an trauma informed, gender specific safe space for women. You will work closely with the Head of Service, Service manager and Whole System Approach Partnership and Development Manager supporting the development of the women centres and the service as a whole. The Nelson Trust Women’s Centres offer gender-responsive, trauma-informed practical and emotional support and interventions to address needs including housing, substance misuse, health, finance, previous trauma, children & families, and education, training and employment with the aim of reducing social harms and re-offending whilst empowering women to access opportunities to reach their full potential. The Nelson Trust Women’s Centres are a unique resource – a safe, women-only space where a wide range of problems related to offending, safety and well-being can be addressed in a warm and supportive environment. As the Centre Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the Women’s Centre, whilst providing support and line management to keyworkers. You will offer women gender-responsive, trauma-informed practical and emotional support and interventions to address needs with housing, substance misuse, health, finance, previous trauma, children & and families and education, training and employment with the aim of reducing social harms and re-offending whilst empowering women to access opportunities to reach their full potential. Due to the nature of the work carried out in our Women’s Centres this role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).
