WHAT TO EXPECT
We are currently hiring for a Capability Senior Analyst to join JLR within the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EMPO). This has been set-up within JLR’s Business Excellence area to focus on improving project and programme delivery across the enterprise. In this role, you will be supporting the Capability Manager in defining and building the PM Capability for our project professionals within JLR, in order to build a strong people capability that is accredited to an external professional body. There will be a specific focus on Project Management capability, and by working to ensure the capabilities of people meet the requirements of the projects, programmes, and portfolios at JLR, you will assist in being able to attract and retain the best talent possible by providing a pathway for our people to grow from early careers onwards.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
1. Support the Capability Manager in multiple aspects including: professionalising project management and delivery as a core capability within JLR (including external recognition), the development of a PM training programme and modules; operated through Success Factors Plus, and implementing an apprenticeship programme for project control.
2. Conduct a capability needs analysis to determine appropriate P3M Pathways.
3. Ensure all training is accredited to the appropriate professional body and supports routes to chartership for our people.
4. Support in the development and execution of a PM growth plan for the Enterprise PMO and wider Business Excellence team to ensure all members of the team have the appropriate level of PM capability and are part of roll modelling how we execute project management across JLR.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
In order to be considered for this position, you will need to have a good understanding and prior experience of the capabilities required for all aspects of project management. Experience with approaches that use examples such as APM, PRINCE2, etc, will be very beneficial. If you have connections or established relationships with a professional PM institute, this will also most certainly give you a positive advantage.
5. A clear understanding of the differences between project control, project management and the capability model for each core discipline.
6. Credibility within the project management environment and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
7. Transformation and change management experience.
8. Practical experience of techniques & processes for planning, monitoring and controlling projects & programmes, including risk management.
