About the Role: We are looking for an Associate Professor who will work as part of the Centre leadership team â helping to set the strategic direction, research, and funding priorities. The individual will be responsible for the inception and effective delivery of innovative and collaborative research projects, through their leadership and management of research teams within the Centre and beyond. Securing external funding and assisting other colleagues to do likewise will be an important aspect of this role. The post-holder will take responsibility for the use of research resources to ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget and with a good quality outcome, this will include leadership in the use of the newly constructed social sciences research laboratory at ARU Chelmsford.
The new Centre will have a strongly collaborative approach with local, regional, and national uniformed public services organisations to tackle issues around equality, diversity, and inclusion. So, the post-holders will have the opportunity to work closely and collaboratively with these organisations on research and evaluation challenges. Alongside supervising PhD/Professional Doctorate students there will be opportunities to contribute to postgraduate teaching and learning.
The successful candidate will have PhD or Professional Doctorate in an appropriate subject area or Professional qualification in a relevant subject area. You will have a track-record of research impact, including experience of working with policymakers and/or public sector organisations to deliver evidence-based change.
