Fixed Term Contract/Secondment until 31 March 2025
An opportunity has arisen for a Lead Nurse to be appointed on a fixed term secondment to provide operational management and support professional nursing leadership across Learning Disability In-Patient Services in NHS Tayside.
The post holder will be a key member of the In-Patient Learning Disability Team with work assigned from the General Manager and Professional Line to the Associate Nurse Director. You should be a Registered Nurse with current registration on Parts 3 or 5 / RMN or RNLD of the UK NMC Register. You should have high standards of professional values, practice and performance commitment to drive forward significant Service change and professional performance ensuring and promoting high standards of clinical practice; quality standards of person centred, safe and effective care. A sound knowledge of clinical and care governance is essential.
The In-patient Learning Disability is to undergo significant change and re-design, following a decision by NHS Tayside Board that Learning Disability In-Patient Services will be delivered from a single site in Murray Royal Hospital in Perth. The successful candidate will be expected to support and manage staff teams through this challenging Service Re-design.
You will be required to work closely and in partnership with Lead Clinicians, other Mental Health Services and our Staffside Partnership representatives to advise on review and support the service improvements and ways of working. This will involve working across professional and organisational boundaries, in partnership and in collaboration with others including service users, carers, health professionals, social work, voluntary sector staff, and local higher education providers.
Internal - Written approval must be sought from your line manager prior to applying for this secondment. You will be required to bring this if shortlisted for interview. The successful applicant will return to a post within their substantive department at their substantive grade at the end of the secondment period.

Hours of work are: 37 per week worked over 5 days.
NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
Short-listed applicants will be contacted by email. Please check your emails regularly, including your junk/spam folder.
