Principal Design Electrical Engineer BAE Prestwick £28.44 paye OR £37.53 umbrella inside ir35 Contract: 12 Months BAE Systems are looking for a skilled and experienced Aircraft Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in a wide range of aircraft design activities, contributing to projects such as the Atmospheric Research Aircraft (ARA) Mid-Life Upgrade (MLU). You will provide specialist electrical design advice and ensure compliance with airworthiness, national, quality, and SHE requirements. Key Skills Relevant engineering background with experience in aircraft design. Proven ability to lead projects, manage teams, and deliver on technical objectives. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex technical data. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Experience with design processes, quality standards, and compliance requirement The Job: Lead and undertake a full range of aircraft design tasks, ensuring adherence to processes, airworthiness, national standards, and quality requirements. Provide guidance and authorisation for the release of company data, both internally and externally. Carry out investigations into complex operational problems, developing solutions individually or as part of a project team. Develop modifications for the ARA MLU project, collaborating with third-party design organisations. Compile, review, and approve engineering drawings and documentation. Potential opportunity to take on the role of Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE), subject to approval. Analyse and evaluate complex technical data and propose solutions for process improvements. Assist in the preparation and development of high-quality bids and business opportunities. Plan, manage, and deliver small-medium projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion. Lead a team, ensuring they are motivated and aware of their responsibilities, while maintaining focus on quality and SHE. Act as a primary technical and procedural source of guidance within the team. Collaborate with customers and suppliers to resolve complex engineering issues and ensure alignment with priorities and objectives.
