Position: Chef Manager - £32,614 – Newquay – Contract Catering
Working Hours: Monday to Friday daytime hours!!
We have a fantastic opportunity here at a Leading Contract Catering Company, for an experienced Head Chef/Chef Manager to join our team based at a unit near Newquay. The working hours are predominantly Monday to Friday, daytime hours with only very occasional evening/weekend work required!
As the Head Chef/Chef Manager you will lead and develop your team, provide exceptional service to our client and customers, and deliver great results for the company. You will create a positive safety and wellbeing culture throughout the team to ensure the safety of everyone in your department. You will manage 6 chefs across 2 kitchens.
The role is 5 miles outside of Newquay, so own transport is essential.
Key Info:
Salary: £15.62 per hour equating to £32,614. All overtime paid on top
Location: Newquay
Hours: 40 hours per week, mainly Monday - Friday, only very occasional weekends
Key Responsibilities of Chef Manager:
1. Lead, develop, coach, train, and inspire your team
2. Have control of stock, food, and labour costs
3. Ensure consistency of food and service standards
4. Manage and improve all controllable costs
5. Oversee the main kitchen and menu development
6. Deliver exceptional customer service
7. Maintain company systems & procedures, and legislation
8. Carry out regular audits
Ideal Chef Manager Candidate:
1. Experience within a similar environment as a Chef Manager
2. Line management experience is advantageous
3. Craft based experience using fresh ingredients
4. Knowledge of health and safety practices
5. Financial understanding of gross profit management and achieving sales targets
