Join our growing Nuclear team as a Senior Civil 3D Modeller to lead the CAD delivery of multi-million-pound earthworks schemes. This client-facing role requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholder requests. You will collaborate closely with AECOM Project Managers, serving as a primary contact for external clients and ensuring project delivery meets our standards for quality, safety, and environmental care. We are seeking candidates with experience in regulated, quality-assured environments, preferably within the nuclear industry. Strong design judgment and draughting expertise are essential. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to a variety of UK and international projects at all lifecycle stages.
Here’s what you will do:
1. Provide Civil 3D modelling support to AECOM design teams and advise our engineers and modellers, where necessary.
2. Oversee CAD deliverables, ensuring completion within budget and compliance to standards.
3. Assist with meeting Building Information Modelling requirements by populating models with required metadata and creating models to meet required level of detail.
4. Report model coordination issues and host design team meetings to review these issues.
5. Work independently using an already established understanding of civil engineering and best practices and be able to provide meaningful input to the design process.
6. Work in conjunction with engineers of multiple disciplines as part of the iterative design process.
7. Support the Nuclear team in maintaining CAD standards, best practices and processes for modelling, content creation, and advanced digital developments.
8. Create workflows, methods and procedures, where necessary.

Qualifications

_Here’s what we’re looking for:_
The successful technician will have/be:
1. Qualified with an HNC/Higher TEC Diploma Qualifications Academic Educated to HNC level General Education Qualifications.
2. Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D (in an earthworks environment – use of gradings and sites, for example).
3. Experience in producing construction details / technical drawings.
4. Experience in wider design modelling aspects (Highways, drainage, utilities etc.) is highly desirable.
5. Proficient in Revit and Navisworks is highly desirable.
6. Ability to extract the profiles, sections, setting out, grading etc., directly from the data shortcuts.
7. Working knowledge in managing Civil3D data shortcuts in ProjectWise and BIM360 environments.
8. Ability to create templates and comply with project/client styles, line work, and naming conventions in both CAD and Civil3D.
9. Proficient understanding of CDE tools ProjectWise, BIM 360 and other appropriate tools.
10. Ability to produce design outputs from engineering sketches, written, and verbal instruction.
11. Perform quality control, progress, scheduling and execution of product delivery to internal/external clients.
12. Perform client meetings to discuss project requirements, explain work, etc.
13. Complete interdisciplinary technical reviews.
14. Prepare presentations that explain technical findings, recommendations, and limitations.
15. Carry out earthwork design and analysis primarily with tracks / roads / intersections / laydown construction areas, volumes analysis and drainage.
16. Use of Civil 3D for earthworks, especially the use of grading tools/surfaces and building of earthwork areas for construction.
You will also be self-motivated with an ability to work both autonomously where required, with a strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline driven team environment.
