Essex Highways oversees the management and maintenance of one of the largest and most extensive highway networks in the country—spanning 5,000 miles of roads and an equal length of footways. Operated as a partnership between Essex County Council and our contractual partner, we are committed to delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality highway services.
As a key member of the Members Highway Initiative team, this office-based role plays a vital part in ensuring accurate project reporting and supporting the Highways Inspections team with essential data administration tasks. If you have a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to administration, we’d love to hear from you!
The Role
1. Provide administrative support to the Member Highways Initiative project through using Confirm to ensure weekly reporting is correct.
2. Carry out a regular weekly regime of system checking of the works delivered by the programme.
3. Provide assurance that business processes are being followed and surface any issues as well as correcting where needed.
4. Provide wider support to the team when needed.
5. Assist with client data or audit requests as appropriate.
Minimum Requirements
1. Prior administrative experience.
2. Good standard of literacy and numeracy with previous experience of using Excel and Outlook.
3. Good at problem solving, analytical, consistent decision making and accurate approach.
4. Ability to focus on data centric tasks, spot patterns and correct errors.
5. Quick learning, specifically as they will need to use our primary asset system - Confirm as well as follow and understand unfamiliar business processes.
