The Role
* Manage the team, work collaboratively across the Group, ensuring achievement of KPIs, and contribute to creating a positive working environment for all colleagues.
* Assist the Head of Design/Design Manager in delivering the company and brand strategy, establishing clear brand positioning in the market, and ensuring customer profiles remain current.
* Manage and deliver the financial plan for the brands, adhering to budgets, keeping on target of company sample hit rate, and maintaining appropriate cost controls.
* Actively monitor trading across the brands and react to sales, making timely decisions to maximize revenue and profitability.
* Source and develop products through trips that excite and inspire the customer.
* Build strong customer knowledge.
* Ensure collections meet customer profiles and brand identity, delivering an appropriate balance of product assortment.
* Oversee the development of each range for the brands, producing clear specifications and high-quality hand-made samples.
* Train junior team members to ensure they produce detailed spec sheets and hand-made samples.
* Oversee the sourcing process for materials and components to meet design team requirements.
* Collaborate on original inspiration themes through trend research and insights.
* Create and present inspiring yet commercial company ingredient boards.
* Lead in creating and designing innovative, original designs and concepts.
* Support and influence buying and merchandising as required.
* Ensure design development aligns with brand pricing and option frameworks.
* Review ranges globally to maximize margin benefits.
* Identify and grow key suppliers through relationship building and product development.
* Manage and implement key activities in the design critical path.
About You
Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent in jewellery or accessories.
Competent in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
Sound commercial acumen and trading experience.
Creative flair with at least 6 years of design experience.
Competent hand-making skills for constructing buying samples.
Awareness of Far East suppliers and jewellery production processes.
Good understanding of the retail market, fashion trends, and brand positioning.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly.
Strong organizational and task management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to design across multiple brands and work under pressure with tight deadlines.
