The Birmingham Division of St Andrew's Healthcare is well known for its friendly and welcoming nature.
The Psychology Department extends this, as a team that supports and celebrates individuals on their personal career pathways, whether as a Volunteer, Assistant, Trainee, or Registered Psychologist.
At our Birmingham site, we provide medium and low secure services for men and women with mental disorders alongside our Reach Out network colleagues. Our teams are multi-disciplinary with extensive knowledge, skills, and experience of working with individuals within secure care. Our aim is to provide high-quality assessment, care, and treatment, helping patients to progress to the least restrictive setting by equipping them with the skills required to live as independently as possible, closer to communities of their choosing. We include patients in planning their care, valuing and embracing each individual's unique qualities.

You and the role
We are currently looking to appoint a qualified or newly qualified Psychologist who has experience or an interest in working with complex and challenging patient groups and will be eligible for, or hold HCPC registration.
Psychology is highly valued within the service and embedded within a multi-disciplinary approach. The post holder will be fully involved in the development, delivery, and evaluation of a range of assessments and formulation-led interventions. You will be joining a motivated and supportive team with a variety of therapeutic knowledge, using approaches including LMV, EMDR, DBT, and trauma-focused care in both 1:1 and group formats. There will be the opportunity to work with a variety of client groups, including the opportunity to work with older adults and adults of working age. The team seeks to hold a wide variety of specialisms between them and welcomes interests in other areas.
There will be opportunities for joint professional work and involvement in clinical supervision, support, and training, and we actively support innovation and research. You can expect to receive good support, reflective practice, and supervision and will play a vital part in the promotion of this service. Participation in continued professional development is encouraged, and divisional and charity-wide CPD events are held weekly. Staff wellbeing is taken seriously, recognising the importance for practitioners to care for themselves when caring for others.
In return
We offer an excellent benefits package including 38 days holiday, sickness policy on par with NHS, car lease scheme, free parking, cycle to work scheme, healthcare discounts, employee support programme, and opportunities for research, training, and CPD.
