A one-week mission (from 30 April until May 5th) as Assistant to the Gallery Manager during 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair in New York Chelsea area.
Responsibilities
In Person:
1. Receive and check the delivery/unpacking of the artworks and the presentation materials from the transporters to the booth.
2. Assist the Manager with the installation of the artworks by the technicians.
3. Assist the Manager every day of the Fair in sharing information about the artists and the artworks to the visitors, collectors, and curators.
4. Assist the Manager in sending further information via email.
5. Receive the transporters at the end of the Fair and check the repacking of the artworks.
Digitally:
Follow up the delivery of the artworks to clients in New York.
Qualifications
BA or MA, in either:
History of Art, Art Business or Fine Arts.
Interest in the African and African Diaspora Art scenes desirable but not essential.
Excellent verbal skills.
Energetic, hands-on and resourceful.
