Summary
The apprenticeship will cover all dimensions of engineering within a fast moving consumer goods environment, giving the apprentice and the employer the opportunity to establish the preferred career path. Duties include day to day maintenance of food manufacturing machinery.
Wage
£14,722.50 a year
Additional 50p per hour attendance bonus if all scheduled hours and days are worked.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Day to day maintenance of food manufacturing machinery
* Reading and understanding technical and electrical drawings to aid with fault finding and resolution
* Diagnose and determine the cause of faults in electrical and mechanical plant and equipment
* Repair, maintain, service, and test food production equipment including machinery
* Replace, repair or remove components within equipment and ensure its return to operational condition
* Identify and assist with the implementation of continuous improvement within the factories’ operation. Helping to ensure that plant and equipment run efficiently, smoothly and safely, minimising downtime
* Complying with all health and safety legislation
* Completing daily work sheets and general record keeping. Help to maintain mechanical and electrical parts and spares, sourcing and ordering supplies
* Work closely with the engineering manager and other engineering colleagues and other essential departments

For the full apprenticeship, candidates will complete:
Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard- Mechatronics Maintenance Technician pathway:
* Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
* Level 2 Award for Foundation Phase Gateway Assessment
* Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
* Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering (Development Competence)- Mechatronic Maintenance Technician
For the End Point Assessment (EPA) apprentices will undertake a viva interview (to check occupational competence), a portfolio of evidence and professional competence against the EngTech standard.
Apprentices must attend college sessions one day per week at the Ipswich Road campus, located near Norwich city centre.
