Machine Learning Engineer
AKT II has successfully delivered several machine learning projects in recent years, and we are now expanding our ML capabilities across core business operations and external services. As part of this growth, we are looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join our Software Development Team in London.
Our Software Development Team—a dynamic group of software developers and AEC specialists—builds bespoke digital tools to support AKT II’s diverse expertise, including structural engineering, façade design, bioclimatic analysis, zero-carbon solutions, and geotechnical design. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge ML-driven solutions that enhance our engineering and design workflows.
The role and responsibilities:
* Designing and implementing ML pipelines to solve complex engineering problems in the AEC industry.
* Creating commercial and scalable ML solutions for production environments.
* Interfacing directly with AEC subject matter experts to co-develop project specifications.
* Tracking emerging trends in ML development, and communicating their potential applications to the practice.
* Educating Software Development team members on effective ML techniques, software, and services.
* Creating documentation and training materials for ML systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Master’s degree (with 2+ years of industry experience) or Bachelor’s degree (with 3+ years of industry experience) in Computer Science, or related field with ML focus.
* Experience with ML techniques for 3D spatial data analysis.
* Experience with orchestrating enterprise-grade cloud-based ML services.
Skills:
* Contributions to open-source ML projects.
* Understanding of software development best practices (version control, CI/CD, testing).
* Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
* Experience in the AEC industry, or with engineering applications (desirable).
