The successful applicant will lead and ensure compliance of the mechanical section of the Hard FM team, a team of around 10 employees which is motivated and experienced, and this role offers an exciting opportunity for development and a range of experience. The Estates team provide a co-ordinated approach in delivering services in-line with all our Statutory requirements and Key Performance Indicators, by which CHoICE's effectiveness is measured and monitored. Health Care premises have complex Building Services, which are managed and maintained to extremely high standards, in order to deliver a suitable facility for providing health care, to those same exacting high standards. Main duties of the job As Senior Estates Officer (Mechanical), you will be required to lead the in-house mechanical team and specialist contractors. The service provides reactive, planned maintenance & contract works in a busy acute hospital setting. The positions objectives are to ensure that all maintenance works are provided within pre-designated times & costs and provide technical input, to ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and legislation. You will be responsible for ensuring acceptable standards of quality, productivity and workmanship of work is maintained. To manage and arrange shutdowns, connections and adaptations to hospital services which facilitate progress on major capital and minor work schemes of a more complex work content. Carrying out estimates for works and working within defined budgets. You will be based at South Tyneside District Hospital, although they will be required to work at other properties owned or maintained by the Trust as required. The post holder will be educated Educated to degree level or equivalent in a Building Services related subject and have a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role or working towards degree level or equivalent in relevant field with relevant experience.
