The ideal candidate will have strong business development and lead generation experience within the corporate and commercial departments.
About the Role:
As Legal Director – you will play a pivotal role in shaping and protecting the company’s commercial and corporate interests. You will be responsible for leading legal strategies, managing complex contracts, and advising senior stakeholders on a broad range of commercial matters.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic legal advice on commercial and corporate contracts, partnerships, and business operations.
* Lead negotiations on high-value agreements, ensuring favourable terms and risk mitigation.
* Manage a team of legal professionals and external counsel as required.
* Oversee compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
* Support corporate transactions, including M&A, joint ventures, and investment activities.
* Develop and implement legal policies and best practices to support business growth.
* Work closely with commercial, finance, and executive teams to align legal strategy with business objectives.
* Lead of business development activities for the department.
About You:
* Qualified solicitor with 8+ years of post-qualification experience in commercial and corporate law.
* Proven experience in handling complex commercial and corporate contracts, negotiations, and corporate transactions.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders.
* Excellent knowledge of relevant regulations, risk management, and compliance.
* Strategic thinker with a commercial mindset and problem-solving approach.
* Experience within [technology, software, manufacturing, finance] would be advantageous.
