South Warwickshire University Foundation Trust is seeking a committed, dynamic and enthusiastic Urology Consultant to join our friendly team of 5 Consultants, 2 Specialty doctors, 1 Specialist Registrar, 1 Trust Grade SHO, 2 Deanery SHO's and 3 FY1s. The consultant will also be supported by a team of five experienced Urology Clinical Nurse Specialists who run the dedicated Urology Unit and carry out multiple investigation modalities. The service is supported by 2 interventional Radiologists and a local multidisciplinary meeting with a visiting Oncologist.
The post holder will be part of the substantive on call rota, the current rota is Monday - Thursday or Friday - Sunday.
Main duties of the job
The new consultant will be expected to be flexible and take an equal share in response to the identified needs of the service. They will be provided with equivalent office accommodation and secretarial support as that enjoyed by the existing consultants. The trust is committed that the successful candidate will have equitable working conditions compared to their colleagues.
The job plan is intended to be consistent with the new consultant contract. The exact details of the job plan will be reviewed on a regular basis as part of the established appraisal and job-planning process.

* In conjunction with Consultant colleagues, to ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met and regularly attend the Trust Committees supporting the clinical governance structure.
* To take on appropriate management responsibilities, and lead in developments appropriate to interests and experience of the new appointee.

* To contribute to the management of the clinical service and service development.
* To contribute to the research and development of the department.
* To ensure that there are adequate arrangements for hospital staff involved in the care of patients to be able to contact you when necessary.
