Job summary We a seeking a motivated and experienced nurse in vascular access to join our dynamic IV access team at LUHFT. This is a cross site post across multiple bases at LUHFT and the successful candidate will be the deputy manager for the IV Access Team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with extensive experience in placing and managing various vascular access devices, who can work as part of a highly effective nurse led service. The successful candidate will provide effective leadership and management support for the team and to support the Nurse Consultant. This role also involves service and team development to to innovate and ensure the effective delivery of the service. Main duties of the job The Lead Nurse will be responsible for providing a high quality, expert, holistic service for all adult patient groups across LUHFT, Lead and manage the trust wide service for delivering short and long term vascular access.Develop specialist policies and standards, monitor outcomes and provide and interpret surveillance dataCoordinate treatment room sessions for implanted port/ tunnelled line/ PICC insertion and removals and an inpatient bedside PICC/Midline insertion team. Assess, prioritise and schedule patients referred for vascular access from both in-patient wards, OPAT and community IV service. Support clinical teams in the care and management of vascular access through education, training and monitoring of devices.Co-ordinate and further development of the IV service through providing an efficient patient pathway from initial referral to insertion or removal of appropriate longer term vascular access device.Lead and manage the IV Team to ensure efficient and effective service delivery over a 5 day working week.
