One of the UK’s largest PVC Cable Management manufacturers requires an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their dedicated Production team. The role of Maintenance Engineer will be to maximise factory utilisation and yield, within all areas of the manufacturing facility, by competently carrying out preventative planned maintenance and breakdown repair services.
Previous experience within Mechanical Engineering industry, dealing with day-to-day maintenance of plant and equipment and 3-Phase installation is essential. Successful candidate for the position of Maintenance Engineer should hold Electrical - 18th Edition BS7671 qualification, be Mechanical Engineering qualified and available to fulfil a split shift working rotation. Maintenance Engineer duties include:
* Undertake maintenance on extruders, moulding machines, a compounding plant, chillers, compressors and various granulators, saws and presses
* Carry out timely execution of preventative planned maintenance whilst dealing with day-to-day breakdowns, faults and repairs
* Carry out unplanned breakdown repairs to production equipment and machinery as required
* Maintain and update assigned preventive maintenance schedule requirements
* Review preventative planned maintenance requirements and advise on updates / changes to tasks as required
* Optimise plant output and quality
* Adopt and pursue a working style that will continually improve and enhance work practices
Successful candidates for the role of Maintenance Engineer require the following:
* Mechanical Engineering qualification (BTEC or equivalent)
* 18th Edition BS7671 and fully qualified in 3 phase electrical installations – essential
* Ability to read both mechanical & electrical schematic drawings
* Previous experience in Mechanical Engineering industry
* Previous experience managing day to day maintenance of plant and equipment
* A good understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace
* Knowledge and experience in the plastics sector - desirable
* Proactive approach
* Ability to work equally well alone or within a team
Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 6am – 2pm and 2pm – 10pm (rotating weekly)
Salary: £37,500 - £39,000 p.a. dependent upon experience
