Description
Summary
Under the direction of the nursing staff, cares for residents at Stone Pear Pavilion while keeping them safe and comfortable during their activities of daily living by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provides care and services to residents as defined by individualized care plans. Care and services include, but are not limited to: ADL assistance, mobility assistance, positioning assistance and feeding assistance.
* Performs random rounds on each resident every two hours, starting upon arrival and finishing just prior to the end of the shift.
* Takes and records temperature, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed.
* Participates in resident activity program.
* Documents care provided to residents using approved documentation method.
* Reports any change in resident condition to the charge nurse immediately.
Other Responsibilities:
* Assists with stocking supplies in clean utility rooms.
* Attend meetings and training sessions required for the position.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Certificate upon completion of an approved nurse's aide certification curriculum. Complete annual state-mandated training requirements (Regular In-services as well as any external training).
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Certified Nurse Assistant certification. A Certified Nurse Assistant is required to work 8 hours and take 12 hours of training annually.
Medical Screenings
A Tuberculosis testing are required annually.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or walk throughout the facility. The employee is regularly required to complete duties and provide therapeutic touch, reach with hands and arms, and balance to use medical equipment to assess resident vital signs, operate the Sit to Stand Maxi/Hoyer lifts, lift or assist a resident out of a chair or bed, and perform personal hygiene care for residents.
The employee is frequently required to use his/her senses of taste and smell to ensure that food is tasty and edible and to detect odors within the unit. The employee is occasionally required to sit at a desk when charting and at a table to feed residents. The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 100 pounds when assisting a resident with the aid of lift equipment or assistance of two.
