The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust North Midlands and Black Country Procurement Group (NMBC) Department is responsible for the Strategic and Operational Procurement for UHNM (Royal Stoke University Hospital, County Hospital, Royal Wolverhampton Trust Walsall Health trust, North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare and Black Country Healthcare) and 36 partner NHS organisation within the Staffordshire, Shropshire, Cheshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Lancashire Health Economies. The UHNM - NMBC (North Midlands and Black Country) Procurement Group is responsible for the management and control of expenditure in excess of £840 million across the local health economy. The Supplies and Procurement function consists of: Strategic Procurement Operational Procurement including warehousing and stock management services Capital Procurement Systems Services (e.g. Purchase to Pay Systems) Main duties of the job The Buyer will lead and support on the Strategic Procurement Contracts and ensure compliance for revenue spend for the NMBC covering UHNM Central Functions, Walsall Healthcare, Wolverhampton Community and GPs, North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare and Black Country Healthcare requirements, reporting into the Senior Strategic Procurement Manager within the NMBC based at Walsall Healthcare (The Manor Hospital). This post is integral in supporting the Department in the delivery of the Trust's Procurement objectives. Responsible for the management of specific categories within the Procurement portfolio to meet the needs of the Trust's strategy, customer base requirements, maximise value for money whilst ensuring compliance with UK & EU Procurement Legislation, UK Law and the Trust's Standing Financial Instructions.
