As a Quality Manager at HS2 you will provide leadership and support on quality to HS2 delivery teams and the HS2 supply-chain, instilling a right first-time ethos to support the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of projects. Responsible for monitoring supply-chain compliance and performance against contracted standards and requirements e.g. WI 600, ISO 9001, etc. Confirming the supply-chain’s quality management systems are in place and are effective. Responsible for advising project delivery teams on quality related matters including key areas for concern, recommended actions and lessons learned through clear and effective management information and reporting. Responsible for conducting quality audits of supply-chain and ensuring audit planning is risk-based, informed by the supply chain’s own audits and surveillances and coordinated with other HS2 functions within the project environment. Responsible for identifying trends and concerns through non-conformances and Defects and ensuring root causes and preventative measures are identified and implemented. Responsible for lead the implementation of the Get it Right Initiative within the project delivery teams and supply-chain to measure the cost of poor quality. Responsible for promoting knowledge sharing across project delivery teams including Quality high potential incidents (HiPos), lessons learned and best practices. Responsible for monitoring the quality of the Contractor’s deliverables through the measurement of right first time acceptance rates by HS2. Ensure root causes behind sub-par acceptance rates are identified and support the improvement of document quality and acceptances. Responsible for the review and acceptance of supply-chain quality documents e.g. Quality Management Plans, Audits Schedules, etc. Responsible as the Quality subject matter expert for delivering high quality technical support and advice to project delivery teams to ensure the best possible outcomes from a quality perspective with a focus on supply-chain performance and compliance. Responsible for educating and training project delivery teams and the supply&x2;chain on HS2’s quality requirements, processes and management information/metrics. Responsible for supporting the development of Quality Works/Goods/Service Information and quality management input to selection and evaluation of suppliers to HS2 and assure supplier compliance to quality requirements. Responsible for promoting compliance, within the project delivery teams, with HS2’s IMS controls and identify areas for improvement. About You: Skills: Ability to produce and present documents and reports to a variety of audiences, including internal stakeholders at various levels in the organisation Influencing and negotiation skills – including influencing internal and external stakeholders without direct authority Ability to interpret management system standards for application to infrastructure projects. Project management skills - the ability to take a project remit and develop project content and technical interventions to deliver defined outcomes. Ability to manage and prioritise own workload, to deliver reports and assurances to agreed deadline. Knowledge: Educated to degree, HND or HNC level (or an equivalent), preferably in an engineering or construction related subject. Knowledge of audit and assurance processes and 3 lines of defence. Successfully completed an IRCA approved ISO 9001 Lead Auditor course. Understanding the relationship between project delivery risk, quality management and assurance. Type of experience: Developing and reporting against quality performance measurements. Experience of delivering projects and initiatives with proven record of business improvement. Experience of delivering operational audits. Experience of analysing risk information and the development of risk actions.
