A well-established food manufacturer is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep and performance of its production facilities. The company supplies a variety of food products to both retail and food service sectors across Ireland and the UK. This role has opened up due to ongoing growth and expansion.
About the Role:
The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for maintaining the site’s infrastructure, equipment, and utilities to ensure seamless operations. The ideal candidate will be a qualified electrician (minimum Level 6) with a strong background in preventive maintenance, process improvements, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Implement and oversee a preventive maintenance programme for all production equipment and site facilities to align with regulatory and certification standards.
2. Identify opportunities for process improvement and introduce advanced technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
3. Work closely with Operations and Production teams to troubleshoot technical challenges and drive continuous improvement.
4. Manage and track capital and operational budgets for site maintenance activities.
5. Conduct routine facility and equipment inspections, identifying wear and tear, addressing issues promptly, and ensuring minimal downtime.
6. Oversee the use of maintenance management systems, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with internal procedures.
7. Supervise and support the technical team, providing training, clear direction, and performance evaluations.
8. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the maintenance function to drive efficiency and accountability.
9. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Skills & Qualifications:
1. Relevant third-level qualification in engineering, electrical, or a related field.
2. Qualified Electrician (minimum Level 6 certification).
3. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance and process improvements.
4. Ability to lead a team, communicate effectively, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
5. Willingness to learn and develop within a growing company.
