Role Title: Finance Officer (Service Charges)
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Salary: £28,617 to £35,771 per annum (salary offered dependent on experience)
Contract: Permanent
You’ll be working in our finance team, monitoring and controlling the coding of service charge related expenditure from external service contract suppliers. You will need to be AAT part qualified and ideally working towards CIMA / ACCA qualification or qualified by previous management accounting or service charge experience.
We support agile working, so you’ll be provided all IT equipment to work flexibly between your home, and our Dartford office.

Your key tasks will include:
Preparing accrual and prepayment journals for service contract suppliers monthly.
Ensuring service contract costs are allocated to the correct cost centre for service charge purposes.
Preparing and reviewing the accuracy of journals before posting into Moat’s finance system in line with contracts, budgets and financial limits.
Providing monthly management reports to relevant departments showing variances or exceptions to coding structure or where invoices are missing.
Providing assistance to internal departments on new development hand overs to ensure new sites are added to contracts.
Advise on any identified improvements to current processes for consideration to change/implement.
Working with the Service Charge team to identify the need for new nominal codes and requesting these where required.
Answering queries from service charge officers relating to costs and variances.
Maintaining the reserve fund accounting process working with Property Services in identifying costs to be recovered from homeowners. Identify and inform Service Charge officers where reserve fund contributions may need to be increased.
You’ll have:
An eye for detail and accuracy
AAT part qualified or working towards recognised accounting qualification.
Knowledge of MS Office, and use of database systems, including intermediate excel skills such as lookups, pivot tables and filters.
A general awareness of Landlord and Tenant legislation.
Desirable / advantageous to have experience of social housing.
