We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Installations team in the position of Installer.
The position of “Installer” involves travelling to various construction sites around the United Kingdom, installing Precast Concrete components, off-loading them from the delivery vehicle, and installing directly onto new buildings on construction sites.
You will be responsible for the safe operation and efficient running of all plant and equipment that you will be trained to use, whilst being focused and committed to achieving our aims in delivering excellent quality and to an agreed schedule of works to meet customer requirements.
The job role will consist of being trained in various installation processes working under the direction of the Project Manager and generally in accordance with the code of practice for the Installation of Precast Concrete floors and associated items.
Your duties would include but are not limited to the following:
Key accountabilities relating to Health & Safety:
* Maintain standards of Health & Safety for not only yourself but others whilst engaged in all workplace activities. Ensure that no items are left on the floor or left obstructing any walkway or working area where you have been designated to work.
* Ensure all Health & Safety standards are adhered to as set out within the site's health & safety management systems. Report all Health & Safety concerns immediately to your line manager.
* Ensure that risk assessments and safe systems of work for each task/process you are trained in are strictly adhered to.
* Ensure that PPE issued is kept and maintained in good condition.
* Ensure that all tools & equipment are kept in good condition and are used for their intended usage. Any defects or damage must be reported immediately to the line manager for replacement.
* Report & action any defective equipment immediately.
* Ensure that all pre-start checks are carried out in accordance with the pre-start protocol.
* Ensure when working with vibrating tools diaries are completed and handed back to your line manager specifying usage time.
Key accountabilities relating to Safe Systems of Work:
* Complete all pre-start and post-completion records and hand back at least weekly to the line manager.
* Ensure that you adhere to all Safe Systems of Work and guidance/rules and regulations outlined in the comprehensive training that has been given in all aspects of the job role.
* Our customers may, in instances, have site-specific rules that must be adhered to.
About You:
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to read complex construction schedules.
* Should be trained, or prepared to be trained to use all relevant equipment.
* Awareness of health and safety legislation.
* The ability to manage a varied workload.
* Good problem-solving skills.
* The initiative to work without supervision or as part of a team.
* Previous experience of working as part of a team.
* Experience of working in a site environment is essential.
Education & Qualification:
* Literacy and Numeracy to GCSE level.
* Ideally trained to or be prepared to train to SSSTS.
* CSCS Precast Installer Card Holder.
* Ideally trained to or be prepared to train to NVQ L2 Precast Installer.
* Ideally trained to or be prepared to train to NVQ L3 Supervisor.
* CPCS – Crane Slinger Signaller.
* Ideally trained to or be prepared to train to CPCS Crane Supervisor.
* Manual Handling.
* Abrasive Wheels.
