We are recruiting for a passionate and experienced KS4 English Teacher to join a dynamic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in East London. This role requires someone with a strong background in behaviour management and exceptional curriculum knowledge, as you will play a key role in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality English lessons to KS4 students, ensuring lessons are tailored to meet diverse learning needs. Take ownership of the English curriculum, including planning, developing, and implementing a robust and engaging syllabus. Manage challenging behaviour effectively, promoting a positive and focused classroom environment. Use creative and inclusive teaching strategies to inspire and motivate students, fostering a love for English. Monitor and assess students' progress, providing individualised feedback and support to help them achieve academic and personal growth. Work collaboratively with a dedicated team of educators, support staff, and SEN specialists to create a consistent and supportive learning environment. Candidate Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with significant experience teaching English at KS4 level. Strong curriculum development experience, with a proven track record of planning and delivering engaging schemes of work. Extensive experience in behaviour management, ideally within a PRU, SEND, or SEMH setting. A resilient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with students facing barriers to learning. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external agencies.
