We’re recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA). What will you be doing as our new Senior Project Manager? The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) project involves the planning, design and construction of circa 320km of new strategic, large diameter, clean water pipeline and associated infrastructure across Anglian Water’s region. As we move into AMP8, additional scope is expected to be delivered by the Alliance including 240km of new pipeline and infrastructure across the region. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the Deputy Programme Director in the pre-construction planning of the additional scope as it transfers from Asset Planning / Major Infrastructure Development to SPA and setting up a team to deliver the programme in AMP8. In addition, the Senior Project Manager will work closely with the Deputy Programme Director to support existing delivery areas, enable best practice, and drive efficient delivery of the total programme. The successful Senior Project Manager will be; Supporting development of pre-construction planning for new work scope to be delivered by the Strategic Pipeline Alliance. The initial additional scope is approximately 240km of new pipeline and infrastructure across the region. Support development of the additional AMP8 scope and organisational structure to support delivery of engineering, stakeholder engagement and consenting, construction planning, project management and commercial management. Providing delivery management of the additional AMP8 scope. Supporting the Deputy Programme Director in managing critical issues. Supporting coordination across existing delivery areas, to leverage the full capability and potential of the Alliance Support to the Deputy Programme Director in managing critical issues, including technical, delivery, risk management, quality management. This will likely need an ability in resolving technical, process, organisational and people issues as required. Qualifications & Experience…. Essential; Experienced leader with previous experience of delivery of large complex infrastructure projects, ideally within the water sector, to deliver SPAs outcomes and customer and investor outcomes. Experience of providing a clear strategy and producing solid plans for delivery, be able to communicate this both to their teams and wider internal and external stakeholders, and to lead on delivering these. Skilled in the leadership and development of large collaborative teams (including the supply chain) to meet overall project objectives. Excellent ‘hands-on’ organisational skills and ability to be decisive and provide clear direction, clarity and judgement when situations or information is complex to meet the overall project objectives. Relentless focus and leadership of safety, environmental and quality processes, and significant experience of managing these successfully. A commercially focused and astute project manager who ensures that project control, programme, cost risk and change processes are in place and regularly reviewed Significant civil engineering and project management experience in a major project environment.
