Our specialist services include substance use, clinical, employment training and education, housing services, housing support and health, young people, and families' services.About the role...We are currently looking to build our Recovery Coordination teams, with some newly created opportunities in Dorset. Our teams provide support for individuals who are experiencing problematic substance misuse. As a Peer Support Apprentice, your duties will include:You will ensure that we are able to provide specialist, tailored support to enable service users to make positive changes and give us the knowledge and resources to be able to reach and engage people with a range of needs within our communities.You will support the building, developing and strengthening of sustainable peer-led recovery support and communities across Dorset, whilst working towards a recognised qualification in Adult Care.You will ensure that you have a "whole person" holistic focus, with an understanding that services need to include all areas of wellbeing, not just substance use, to achieve the best possible outcomes for every person.About you...Humankind recognises and values the support lived experience can offer individuals and as such it is a requirement of the role that apprentices have personal lived experience of alcohol/substance use and/or experience of accessing recovery services in support of alcohol/substance use/mental health issues. Community service and Volunteering will be taken into account.As the role requires you to engage with study you must be willing to undertake a Level 2 apprenticeship in Adult Care with a local training provider. This will include achieving Level 1 in functional skills (Maths & English) if you haven't already. A basic understanding of IT would be useful too as you will be using a laptop to help you carry out your job.The successful candidate needs to be capable of independent travel across the area to cater for meeting up with clients in community venues.
