As a Police Community Support Officer, you will play a vital role in reducing crime and making communities safer in London.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work with local people, support officers, and build relationships that make a real difference to residents. You will be part of either our Safer Neighbourhood or Transport team, working towards a visible police presence and reducing crime and antisocial behaviour at local levels, or keeping London's roads and over-ground transport networks moving and operating safely.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist and support police officers in gathering intelligence and carrying out security patrols
* Reassure the public and provide support at ceremonial and special events
* Respond to major incidents and security alerts, and make house-to-house enquiries
* Help keep London's road network running smoothly, and issue fixed penalty notices
Requirements
* Be comfortable speaking to members of the public
* Be a keen learner who is motivated to complete initial and further training programs
* Understand the importance of community engagement and care about others
* Be comfortable spending lots of time on your feet, as walking is a significant part of the role
* Hold a GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English, or be willing to take a written test equivalent to this qualification
