Position Description:
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing delivery of all HR activities and services for the assigned location, including recruitment and staffing, benefits administration, payroll, policies and procedures, employee engagement, communication, employee development and training, employee relations, organizational and regulatory compliance, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
* Participate as an active member of the plant management team in ensuring the location meets or exceeds objectives in safety, cost, delivery, quality, launch, compliance, etc.
* Advise management and employees in response to questions and/or concerns and recommend an appropriate course of action.
* Administer employee records program such as personnel transactions (hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations), benefits administration (enrollments, status changes) and employee statistics for government reporting (hires, terminations, etc.).
* Manage the payroll processes for the location, including payroll deductions, adjustments, leave of absence programs (LOAs), etc.
* Assess training and development needs of the location and prepare location training plans accordingly.
* Collaborate with location leadership to ensure strategies are in place for employee engagement and retention, including communication forums, surveys, appreciation and recognition events, etc.
* Manage the employee onboarding process, including orientation sessions and effective assimilation into the role.
* Manage workforce planning to ensure the right resources at the right time, including development of job descriptions and following the organization’s job evaluation process.
* Manage recruitment and staffing for hourly and salaried vacancies, including contingent workforce.
* Collaborate with EHS and plant management to develop and sustain a safety-first culture.
* Administer performance review and salary administration programs, ensuring compliance and equity, and participate in compensation surveys to determine competitive packages.
* Investigate concerns and incidents, developing and advising on corrective/preventive actions.
* Manage corrective actions related to policy violations and participate in hearings and investigations by outside agencies.
* Establish and maintain relations with community organizations and represent the location at public functions and community events.
* Write, deliver, and manage communications such as job postings, presentations, newsletters, etc.
* Participate in project teams for HR initiatives.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The HR Manager may supervise roles such as HR Generalist, HR Administrator, HR Assistant, and/or HR Intern, depending on the location’s size and complexity.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Labor & Industrial Relations, or Organizational Development, or relevant experience.
* Minimum of five (5) years HR experience, including at least three (3) years as HR Manager in manufacturing.
Skills and Abilities
* Knowledge of employment and labor laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, etc.).
* Experience with benefits administration, HR systems (Kronos, UKG, ADP, PeopleSoft or similar).
* Understanding of TS1949 and ISO HR requirements.
* Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, negotiating, and project management skills.
* Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Willingness to work flexible hours to support multiple shifts.
