Job Title: Legal Cashier
Location: Halifax
Full time: 9 – 5:15
My clients are looking for someone to manage and execute all accounting and bookkeeping tasks within the firm, ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, and contributing to the smooth operation of the firm's financial processes.
Key Tasks
1. Daily bank reconciliations.
2. Payments by CHAPS/BACS/Foreign Payments.
3. Ensuring correct allocation of client funds.
4. Banking.
5. Billing.
6. Dealing with clients both in person and by telephone.
7. Dealing with internal enquiries.
8. Contributing to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
9. Contributing to maintaining and improving office procedures.
10. Any other duties, which from time to time are required by the firm.
Person Specification
Essential
* Skills: Literate and numerate - maintaining a high level of accuracy, ability to work as part of a team and maintain professional relationships.
* Knowledge: Knowledge of the Solicitors accounts rules, knowledge of Legal Accounts software.
* Experience: Experience as a cashier in a solicitor’s office.
Desirable
* Knowledge: A recognised solicitor’s accounts qualification.
* Experience: A good level of computer literacy, especially with MS Word and Excel.
